Downtown Dog – CB1 presentation

Downtown Dog finally got their day in front of the CB1.   We had a great turn out of supporters and we demonstrated a great unified front with our t-shirts on, we filled the room with almost all DDOG supporters.  Thank you all for taking the time to come and support Downtown Dog and our off leash efforts in Battery Park.  There was some great feedback from the Board as well as feedback from the representative for the Battery Conservancy.   Unfortunately, the Parks Dept was not represented during this meeting so we will be rescheduling the Downtown Dog Presentation for the next CB1 Meeting on November 4th.

Thank you Ben and Joe, and supporters for a dynamic presentation and for vocalizing our need to have a place not just for our dogs, but as a place for friends and family to gather and socialize.

Photos from DDogNYC Clean-up at Battery Park

This morning we had a very successful Downtown Dog NYC clean up at the Large Lawn in Battery Park! Loads of people and dogs came out to enjoy the beautiful morning and help clean up the park. We even filled up a few holes in the lawn. Here are some pics of the event (mostly post clean-up):

Local Dog Owners Clean Up Park

clean up parkSaturday March 15th, local residents and dog owners on behalf of DowntownDog NYC rallied to do a good deed for the community, by “digging” in, and picking up trash and garbage scattered about the Battery Lawn in Battery Park. The dog “officials” were in full “pack” mode, running about, overseeing the entire event “barking” out their commands, as the owners toiled on. The event was a BIG success as witnessed by the numerous bags of garbage collected and disposed of. Thank you to the DowntownDog NYC volunteers, who helped make this happen!
